PINELLAS COUNTY (Bay News 9) -- If a St. Petersburg resident doesn't see another honey bee for a while it will be too soon.

Thousands of bees invaded Barry Porter's property in recent weeks.

The problem got so bad, the postal service wouldn't deliver his mail.

"The mail lady is allergic to bees," Porter said. "So she told them at the post office. And they cut out delivering my mail."

Porter couldn't afford to have the bees removed.

So, Raymond Mills of the Apian Sting Operation bee removal service agreed to remove the estimated 12,000 bees and their hive free of charge.

Mills was able to remove the hive without killing the bees. He will deliver the bees to a Bay area beekeeper
