Despite our company name, here at Florida Bee Removal, we deal with all types of stinging insects, including hornets and wasps. If you have a wasp problem on your property, it is only natural to want to get rid of it as soon as possible, as wasp stings are more painful than bee stings and can cause more severe—even life-threatening—reactions. In this article, we’ll go over the best method for successful wasp removal, though we still encourage you to call our team for maximum safety.

Guide to Successful Wasp Removal

  • Protect Yourself- As we mentioned above, a critical part of wasp removal is taking the appropriate safety measures. Dress in long pants and a long-sleeved shirt, and wear thick work gloves and closed-toed shoes in order to cover up as much skin as possible. In addition, if the nest is up high, make sure you have someone to steady the ladder.
  • Drench the Nest- Using a concentrated liquid insecticide, spray the nest and the area around it (at least 2-3 feet). Next, adjust your nozzle to a pin stream and spray directly into the next interior. This combination will kill the adult wasps and leave a residue that will kill any that hatch. Remember that pesticides are serious chemicals, and be sure to follow all safety instructions.
  • Remove the Nest- Once the nest has been treated, remove it and seal it into a double layer of garbage bags for disposal.

One of the biggest challenges when it comes to wasp removal is finding the nests, as they are usually in cramped, out-of-the-way nooks. We at Florida Bee Removal are highly experienced with finding wasp nests, so give us a call if you want to make sure you get all of them.
